Micro-services are trendy, but a well-structured monolith can be simpler, faster and cheaper:

    1. Single deployable unit – no orchestration overhead, no network hops.
    2. Atomic schema changes – migrations stay in perfect lock-step with code.
    3. Easier local dev – git clone β†’ docker compose up β†’ code.

When your team is small or your domain isn’t that complex, a monolith often beats a fleet of chatty services.
